A little piece of the earth for the thing you hold all day. Each sticker is a hand-polished disc of natural black shungite from Karelia, Russia (about 19–20 mm across), with an adhesive back for your phone, laptop or tablet.
Shungite is a carbon-rich stone, and unlike most rocks it conducts electricity. That's why researchers have been measuring how shungite materials interact with electromagnetic fields (EMF). Here's what they found, and what they didn't.
What the research says
-
Lab study: ultrathin shungite plates (2021). Antonets, Golubev, Shcheglov & Sun, Current Applied Physics 29:97–106. Shungite polished into flexible plates 10–20 micrometres thick reflected and absorbed microwave radiation about as well as synthetic polymer/carbon shielding composites 2–3 mm thick. Results depended on the plate's carbon content. Read the abstract
-
Animal study: 37 GHz exposure in rats. Kurotchenko, Subbotina & Tuktamyshev, "Shielding effect of mineral schungite during electromagnetic irradiation of rats," as summarized by the EMF-Portal research database (RWTH Aachen University). The authors used shungite as a shield for rats exposed to 37 GHz millimetre waves and reported smaller changes in the blood and bone-marrow markers they measured. View the EMF-Portal summary

Community discussion (not a study). The Shungite Forum keeps a reader-curated roundup of published EMF measurements, including notes on where the claims usually get inflated. It's a good place to start reading, but it isn't peer-reviewed. Read the forum thread
Please note: These studies tested lab-prepared shungite plates, coatings and shields. They did not test this sticker. A small disc on the back of your phone hasn't been measured, and we don't claim it blocks or reduces the EMF your device gives off. This sticker is not a medical device and makes no health claims. Think of it as a natural stone and a small daily ritual.
How to use
- Wipe the back of your phone, case, laptop or tablet so it's clean and dry.
- Peel off the backing and press the disc firmly in place for about 30 seconds.
- Let it be your cue to pause, breathe and look up from the screen now and then.
FAQ
Will my phone case still fit?
The disc is slightly raised, so most people put it on the outside of their case rather than on the phone itself.
Does it block my phone's signal?
It's a small stone disc, and we haven't seen it affect calls or data. It also hasn't been lab-tested as an EMF shield. See the note above.
Is every sticker the same?
Each one is natural stone polished by hand, so finish and shade vary a little from piece to piece.
What do I get?
One polished shungite disc, about 19–20 mm, with an adhesive back. Price is for one sticker.
